Big change in the Moodle 5 questionbank:
- How to share quetions between courses
Moodle 5.1 Epic Tracker "Quiz and Question bank in Moodle 5.1":
- Questionbanks are as usual under More > questionbank but technically more similar to activities
- non-editing teachers may use questions of other courses (where they have that role) but don´t change them
- Fragen können in andere Fragenbanken in andere Kurse verschoben werden
- questions are tagged with the question bank name / source name, so you know from where it comes
- Upgrades to 5.0 puts all the questions where they should be. Teachers won't be able to work on questions until the migration of the questionbanks is done
- If the process of migrating goes wrong the process doesn't have to be restarted, it continues where it failed
It's recommended to create a Course for a questionbank for all maths xx questions, and use the questions from there, you only have to maintain the question in one place.
If questions of a questionbank is used in another course, it's not possible to delete the questionbank.
What happens when a course that's the source of questions for other courses is deleted?
- The questions won't be deleted but they will be transferred and show up in "Verborgene Fragen" in the other courses(?)
Roles:
Teacher: use and change questions
Non-editing Teacher: can use but not change questions
Feature request: moving a questionbank to another course.
If a question is in a course category it automatically creates a course where the question bank will be transferred to.
There's still an issue with duplicate questions, it's recommended to clean those up before the migration.
